Appeals from judgments of conviction entered after a jury trial in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York (Allyne R. Ross, Judge). Gary Friedman was convicted of conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute marijuana, receipt of stolen art, three counts of conspiracy to commit extortion and attempted extortion, two counts of use of a firearm in relation to a crime of violence, two counts of travel and use of an interstate facility in aid of racketeering, and two counts of conspiracy to use and use of extortionate means to collect an extension of credit. He was sentenced principally to an aggregate term of imprisonment for life plus 300 months. Kenneth Friedman was convicted of three counts of conspiracy to commit extortion and attempted extortion, three counts of use of a firearm in relation to a crime of violence, three counts of travel and use of an interstate facility in aid of racketeering, and conspiracy to use and use of extortionate means to collect an extension of credit. He was sentenced principally to an aggregate term of imprisonment for life plus 540 months. Carlos Rodriguez was convicted of two counts of conspiracy to commit extortion and attempted extortion, two counts of use of a firearm in relation to a crime of violence, travel and use of an interstate facility in aid of racketeering, and three counts of conspiracy to use and use of extortionate means to collect an extension of credit. He was sentenced principally to an aggregate term of imprisonment for 468 months.
